Call for Board Members and Year End Award Ceremony
We have several board position up for renewal.
Positions are filled on a two year term. Position information is listed below. Individuals interested in putting their name forward for a position can do so by emailing ringettemontague@gmail.com Deadline for submission is Monday March 24th at 8:00pm
Board members must be available for monthly meetings, sitting on sub-committees, and completing tasks outside of meeting hours.
Submissions should include information about yourself, outline your connection to the sport of Ringette, what experience, skills and/or background you have that make you a good candidate for the board position you are interested in.
Below are the positions up for renewal and a description of their responsibilities (not limited to).
President - reoffering
- Calling and presiding at all Executive and Board of director meetings;
- Casting the deciding vote in case of a tie;
- Appointing and monitoring special committees;
- Conducting any business arising between meetings;
- Represents Montague Ringette at monthly RPEI board meetings;
- Being a signing officer;
- Maintaining close contact with RPEI;
- Receive and reply to correspondence
Treasurer -reoffering
- Prepare monthly and annual budgets;
- Monitor revenue and expenditures;
- Maintain accurate records of all monies received, payments made;
- Ensure all payments to the association are collected and recorded;
- Monitor cash flow and ensure association has sufficient funds to meet obligations;
- Other duties as required
Coaching Director- reoffering
- Responsible for putting out applications for coach, assistant coach and manager positions, and presenting applications to the board;
- Responsible for ensuring coaches and managers have required certification;
- Responsible for ensuring coaches, assistant coaches and managers have criminal record checks;
- With other qualified members of the association, assess players and create teams at the beginning of the season;
- Act as a resource for coaches and managers sharing coaching materials and resources;
- responsible for Junior coach applications and positions;
- Respond to coaching issues or concerns as needed;
- Work with development coordinator to plan, implement and evaluate athlete and coach development;
- Communicate and work with Ringette PEI ED, President and coaching director as needed;
- experience playing and/or coaching Ringette is considered an asset
- other duties as required
Equipment Manager
- Annual Jersey and equipment inventory;
- Hand out jerseys to team managers at the beginning of each season;
- Manage jersey sponsorships;
- Order jersey sponsorships bars;
- Collect team jerseys at the end of each season. Ensure jerseys are free from rips/holes/stains;
- Purchasing, maintenance, repair, storage, cleaning and disposal of equipment;
- Ordering replacement rings or any other equipment approved by the board;
- Maintaining equipment room;
- other duties as required
Secretary
- Recording all minutes of all meetings of the Board of Directors and the Executive and ensuring a copy of said minutes is sent to all members of the Board
- other duties as required
Ice Scheduler
- Work with rink managers and RPEI to coordinate season ice allocation;
- coordinate alternative venues for practices, games, clinics, tournaments and camps as required;
- Review and confirm booking reports for season ice and special events;
- Maintain excel spreadsheet with ice times;
- Update RAMP with associations ice times;
- Work with RPEI competitions director other associations to coordinator league games and any cancellations/rescheduling;
- Maintain open and positive communication with RPEI and local rink managers;
- Work with coach director and development coordinator for on ice development sessions;
- Other duties as required
Development Coordinator
- Plan, implement and evaluate development opportunities for players and goalies at the beginning and throughout the season;
- Be familiar with, and follow, the Ringette Canada Athlete Development Matrix and Long Term Ringette Development model when planning and implementing development sessions;
- Work with Ringette PEI and other associations for development opportunities;
- Work with coaches, assistant coaches and Junior coaches to plan, implement and evaluate coach and athlete development;
- Work with ice scheduler to identify and secure ice time to development sessions;
- Create and maintain good working relationships with on ice instructors;
- Experience playing and/or coaching Ringette is considered an asset
- Other duties as required
Marketing & Awards
- Maintain and update the Montague Ringette Association website;
- Maintain and update the Montague Ringette Facebook site;
- Responsible for the coordination of all promotional activities of Montague Ringette Association;
- Maintaining a current media contact file and arranging for pictures and interviews when deemed necessary;
- Responsible for maintaining an active presence on social media by ensuring timely information and engaging with members, media, partners and sponsors;
- Managing the Year end Award Ceremony;
- Purchasing and/or obtaining awards;
- Keeping a permanent record of recipients of all trophies/awards;
- Sending out a call for nomination for annual awards;
- Chairing the annual awards selection committee and assisting with the organization of award ceremony;
- Other duties as required
